Megan Doherty
Director of Operations and Programming
Megan Doherty, MPH is the Director of Operations and Programming in the Center for Global Health (CGH) in the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. In this capacity, Megan provides high-level strategic input for the CGH’s direction and growth including partnership feasibility assessment, faculty engagement, project planning and management, and developing international agreements. She is responsible for creating and implementing administrative practices and international operations’ policies including compliance at the School and university-level. She develops and leads CGH training opportunities and partnership programming for Penn and global partner trainees, identifies internal and external research and collaborative opportunities, and manages stakeholder engagement. Previously, Megan was the Director for International & Service Learning Programs in Penn’s School of Engineering and Applied Science where she was responsible for building partnerships with local and international university and community collaborators to plan and implement joint programming. While at Penn, she has co-developed and implemented projects with partners in West Africa, East Africa, Southern Africa, East Asia and Central America. Megan formerly served as a health sector Peace Corps volunteer in Mali, West Africa. Megan has a BA in Anthropology from the University of Delaware and an MPH from Thomas Jefferson University’s School of Population Health. While at Jeff, she completed a clerkship with the Jefferson Refugee Health Clinic and the Nationalities Service Center. For her MPH capstone, Megan conducted qualitative research on Type II Diabetes in rural and urban areas of Ghana.
