Vagus Nerve Stimulation (VNS) Study (RECOVER)
This study investigates the use of VNS as a treatment for Treatment-Resistant Depression.
Eligibility Criteria: 18 years or older
Current Symptoms of Depression
DSM-5 Diagnosis of Bipolar I or Bipolar II Disorder
Failed 4 treatments
Study Participation Includes baseline screenings and questionnaires, device implantation, device activation and titrations, random assignment to treatment or sham groups for one year, and guaranteed stimulation after one year.
Medicare required, treatment is provided at no cost. Compensation for participation provided.
Real-Time Neurofeedback Study
This study trains the brain to ignore negative stimuli and is predicted to improve depression
Eligibility Criteria: 18-65 years old
Current Symptoms of Depression
DSM-5 Diagnosis of Major Depression or Bipolar II Disorder
Not currently on psychoactive medication or in therapy
Study Participation Includes baseline screenings and questionnaires, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans, 4 neurofeedback sessions, and follow up visits.
Treatment is provided at no cost, no insurance required. Compensation for participation provided.
Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) for Bipolar Depression Study
This study examines the use of TMS for rapid relief of Bipolar Depression symptoms
Eligibility Criteria: 18-70 years old
Current Symptoms of Depression
DSM-5 Diagnosis of Bipolar I or Bipolar II Disorder
Currently taking a mood stabilizing medication
Failed 2 prior treatments
Study Participation Includes baseline screenings and questionnaires, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans, random assignment to placebo or active TMS treatment groups, 5 days of TMS treatment, and a post stimulation visit.
Treatment is provided at no cost, no insurance required. Compensation for participation provided.
Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) and Depression Study
This study investigates the use of intensive TMS as a treatment for Treatment-Resistant Depression
Eligibility Criteria: 18-70 years old
Current Symptoms of Depression
DSM-5 Diagnosis of Major Depression
Failed 2 prior treatments
Study Participation Includes baseline screenings and questionnaires, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans, 5 days of TMS treatment, and a post stimulation visit.
Treatment is provided at no cost, no insurance required. Compensation for participation provided.
Negative Affect and Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) Study (HART)
This study examines brain maps for negative affect and delivers individualized TMS to reduce negative affect.
Eligibility Criteria: 18-65 years old

Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) and Brain Connectivity Study (TBS/rsFC)
This study investigates how TMS impacts the way different parts of the brain talk to each other.
Eligibility Criteria: 18 to 50 years old
Right handed
No current or past psychiatric disorders
Not currently on any medications that act on the central nervous system
Study Participation Includes baseline screening, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans, and TMS stimulation.
Compensation for participation provided.
Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) and Working Memory Study (Loop)
This study combines TMS and function magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) to determine individualized TMS targets and examine how they impact working memory brain states.
Eligibility Criteria: 18 to 60 years old
Right handed
No current or past psychiatric disorders
Not currently taking any psychoactive medications
Study Participation Includes baseline screenings and questionnaires, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scan, functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) scans and TMS stimulation.
Compensation for participation provided.
