Initiating the Search for the Next Director of the Center of Excellence in Environmental Toxicology (CEET)

05/28/26

The Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania is pleased to announce the launch of a national search for the next Director of the Center of Excellence in Environmental Toxicology (CEET). We take this opportunity to convey our gratitude and thanks to Trevor M. Penning, PhD, Molinoff Professor of Systems Pharmacology and Translational Therapeutics, as he concludes his tenure as Founding Director of CEET.

Since establishing CEET in 2006, Dr. Penning has provided visionary leadership in positioning Penn as a nationally recognized leader in environmental health sciences and toxicology. CEET is known as a highly collaborative center that brings together investigators across Penn Medicine and the University to address complex environmental influences on human health and disease. It has become a vital hub for education and workforce development, supporting trainees and faculty members at all stages of their careers and strengthening Penn’s environmental health research community.

We are grateful to Dr. Penning for his longstanding leadership and many contributions to the Center and Penn’s environmental health sciences community. Dr. Penning will continue his research, teaching, mentorship, and academic activities as a valued member of the Penn faculty.

The next Director will play a critical role in shaping CEET’s future scientific vision and strategic direction. The successful candidate will be expected to advance innovative and interdisciplinary environmental health research; foster collaboration across Departments, Schools, and Institutes; strengthen education and training programs; expand translational and community-engaged research initiatives; and enhance CEET’s national visibility and impact.

The position is now live on Interfolio and accepting applications:
