Description
The Penn Center for Women’s Behavioral Wellness (CWBW) provides psychiatric and psychological care to individuals presenting with clinical concerns in the context of women’s reproductive health events, including but not limited to menarche, PMDD, infertility, conception, pregnancy, postpartum, and peri/menopause.
Clinical postdoctoral fellows will receive training, education, clinical experience, and supervision in the delivery of evidence-based therapies relevant to these topics. Fellows will provide outpatient individual and, when available, group psychotherapy to adults presenting with:
- Mood disorders
- Anxiety disorders
- Trauma-related disorders
- Psychotic disorders
- Substance use disorders
- Interpersonal difficulties
- General life stressors and other clinical concerns
Fellows may have opportunities to co-lead or lead group therapy.
CWBW maintains a partnership with a hospital-based women’s health clinic, which may allow for co-located care, as well as collaborations with the Department of Family Medicine and the Department of OB/GYN (Division of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility). These relationships support interdisciplinary care for patients with perinatal substance use disorders and/or those seeking evaluation for third-party reproductive assistance.
Patients seen at CWBW are typically 18 years and older, representing a diversity of ethnicities, identities, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
Responsibilities
- Deliver approximately 28 hours per week of direct clinical care (individual and group psychotherapy, on-site and via telehealth).
- Individual and/or group supervision
- Education and didactics

As a Penn Psychiatry Fellow, there are opportunities to participate in departmental didactics and Grand Rounds seminars.
